To hell with everything that happened on the field on Monday. Jose Fernandez has been placed on the DL and probably needs Tommy John surgery. Everything I know in life is a lie. This sucks. I don’t have anything else to say, aside from “we’ll have more on this today”.
Game of the Night: Nationals 6, Diamondbacks 5. This game got ugly quickly for Arizona in the ninth. But let’s flash back all the way to the sixth, when a two-run homer by A.J. Pollock gave the Diamondbacks a 5-4 lead. Addison Reed came in to close out the game in the ninth, but instead gave Diamondbacks fans a giant turd on a plate. To lead off the inning, Reed allowed a homer to Danny Espinosa to tie the game. After retiring Tyler Moore and Nate McLouth, Reed allowed a go-ahead homer to Kevin Frandsen. The Diamondbacks tried to tie the game in the ninth, but an Eric Chavez double play erased Ender Inciarte from base, and Gerarod Parra was stranded on second to end the game.
Pitching Lines of the Night: We’re going to have to really pick at straws here, folks. Tim Lincecum dominated the Braves in the Giants’ 4-2 win, allowing one run on two hits in 7 2/3 innings, walking four and striking out 11. Jesse Chavez helped the A’s edge the White Sox 5-4, giving up two runs on five hits in eight innings, walking a pair and striking out seven. Colby Lewis carried the Rangers to a 4-0 win over the Astros, allowing seven hits in 5 2/3 shutout innings, striking out eight while walking two. Rick Porcello had a nice night for the Tigers in their 4-1 win in Baltimore, allowing one run on five hits in six innings, striking out two without a walk.
Hitting Lines of the Night: The Cubs smashed the Cardinals 17-5, thanks in large part to Junior Lake going 3/6 with two doubles, a homer, two runs, and six RBI. Emilio Bonifacio chipped in by going 4/5 with a double, a walk, and five runs. Stefen Romero and the Mariners thumped the Rays 12-5, going 3/5 with a double, a homer, three runs, and three RBI. Eric Young Jr. and the Mets beat the Yankees 9-7 in game one of the Subway Series, thanks to EY’s 3/5 day at the plate that included a double, a homer, two runs, two RBI, and a stolen base. In that Giants win over the Braves, Tyler Colvin went 2/3 with a triple, a homer, two runs, and three RBI.
Other Games: The Blue Jays beat the Angels 7-3. The Dodgers edged the Marlins 6-5.
What You Missed: Yasiel Puig going crazy. The Indians are having way too much fun with Brohio. This week in replay. Coors Field in May, or December?

Dickey will duel in Toronto. Andrew Cashner faces off with Mike Leake in Cincinnati. Marco Estrada and the Brewers host Gerrit Cole and the Pirates. James Shields and the Royals host the Rockies.
