This is quite an embarrassing situation for the Oakland Athletics. Despite clear skies, Friday night’s game with the Seattle Mariners at O.co Coliseum was postponed because the infield wasn’t covered with a tarp overnight during heavy rains, and it wasn’t in playable condition. Seriously.
O.co Coliseum infield wasn't covered with tarp overnight during heavy rain, leading to field issues. #Mariners and A's will play two on Sat.

Talk is of canceling this game because infield is a mess. Went tarpless too long, apparently. That would be embarrassing. #athletics

It's official. #athletics–#mariners game postponed, and fans are not happy. This is the worst PR possible.

What an unbelievable mess. This is high school stuff. The A’s had a rainout for the first time since 1998 on Tuesday, and you would think that after that, the grounds crew would take extra precautions. Apparently, that’s too logical for O.co Coliseum.
