Minnesota Twins pitcher Mike Pelfrey is a proud Wichita State alum, and before their brief run in the NCAA Tournament last week, Twins manager Ron Gardenhire called Pelfrey into his office under the guise of “calling the team to pump them up”. The only problem was that Pelfrey wasn’t talking to the Shockers – he was talking to his teammates in the Twins clubhouse. Here’s hoping that Pelfrey and the Twins have a better finish to their season than Wichita State, who lost to eighth-seeded Kentucky in the round of 32 on Sunday.
