Remember that epic post-National Anthem standoff before Game 6 of the NLCS between Cardinals pitcher Joe Kelly and Dodgers outfielder Scott Van Slyke? Of course you do. The Cardinals’ AA affiliate, the Springfield Cardinals, announced on Friday that it would be commemorating the standoff with what will surely be one of the most popular promotional items of the 2014 season — the Joe Kelly Standoff Bobblehead.
The team made the announcement during the Cardinals Caravan stop at Hammons Field in Springfield, MO. Kelly and Cardinals pitcher Shelby Miller (he’s alive!) were on hand for the big unveiling of the item. No photo of the bobblehead commemorating Kelly’s standoff win is available yet, and the team will announce the giveaway date in March. We will be sure and post a photo as soon as one becomes available.
