ESPN 30 for 30 short: The Schedule Makers

ESPN's acclaimed 30 for 30 documentary series has branched out to a series of 30 for 30 Shorts over the last year, focusing on interesting stories that deserve to be told, but really can't be stretched to fit a 60 or 90 minute timeslot.

The newest short is entitled The Schedule Makers, and focuses on the husband and wife duo of Henry and Holly Stephenson. who created MLB's schedule every year from 1982 to 2004. The 12 minute film is a cute look at the couple and their method of creating the schedule before finally losing out to a computerized algorithm beginning in 2005.

It's an interesting story, describing the couple's process to create the schedule, the requests from teams and the league that they had to accomodate, and the bits of grief they'd get. This is definitely worth the small chunk of your day it'll take to watch.
