One of the great things about Milwaukee is that one of Miller Park's racing sausages could be seen in a bar, and nobody would really bat an eye — let alone think that the suit was stolen. Well, it turns out it was, and police currently have no idea where it is.
The Klement's Racing Sausages of Miller Park fame made an appearance at a February 16 fundraiser in the Milwaukee suburb of Cedarburg. At some point, the Italian Sausage suit was left unattended in a back room. So, someone — the police don't know who yet — did what any self-respecting Wisconsinite would do, given the opportunity: they put the suit on, walked out of the building in plain sight, and proceeded to hit the bars.
The Italian sausage was seen at TJ Ryan's at about 9 p.m. local time, and then was spotted at The Roadhouse Bar and Grill around midnight. You'd have to imagine more sightings will become public, because it's sort of hard to miss a seven-foot-tall sausage costume walking around town.
Since the Cedarburg police appear to have a sense of humor, it doesn't look like charges will be filed for the theft of the suit, which is actually valued at $3000. They're just hoping it turns up soon.
No word yet on if Randall Simon is a suspect.
