Kris Bryant and Carlos Correa were named the 2015 Rookies of the Year in the National and American Leagues on Monday night. Bryant won the NL award unanimously, collecting all 30 first place votes. Correa collected 17 of 30 first place votes to win the AL award.
Bryant hit .275/.369/.488 with 26 homers and 13 stolen bases on the season. His 26 homers were tied with Joc Pederson for the most by any rookie in baseball, and his 13 steals actually were ranked sixth in the majors. Bryant was expected to be the runaway winner in the NL, and he was. He’s the first Cub to win the Rookie of the Year since Geovany Soto in 2008.
Matt Duffy of the Giants finished second with 22 second place votes and four third place votes, giving him a total of 70 points. Jung Ho Kang of the Pirates was third with four second place votes and 16 third place votes, giving him 28 points. In fourth was Noah Syndergaard of the Mets, receiving three second place votes, seven third place votes, and 16 points. Justin Bour of the Marlins finished fifth after notching one second place vote and one third place vote, good for four points. Pederson and Stephen Piscotty were tied for sixth, each tallying one third place vote.

Over in the American League, Correa prevailed over Francisco Lindor in a close race. The 21-year old hit .279/.345/.512 with 22 homers and 14 steals in just 99 games. Correa is just the second ever Astro to win the Rookie of the Year award, following Jeff Bagwell in 1991. Correa earned 17 first place votes and 13 second place votes, finishing with 124 points.
Lindor was the second place finisher, picking up 13 first place votes, 14 second place votes, two third place votes, and 109 points following a strong half year with the Cleveland Indians. Migeul Sano of the Twins finished in third, picking up 20 third place votes and 20 points. Blue Jays closer Roberto Osuna finished four with two second place votes, two third place votes, and eight points. A’s outfielder Billy Burns was fifth with one second place vote, three third place votes, and six points. In sixth was Eddie Rosario of the Twins with two third place votes ant two points. Finally, Delino DeShields of the Rangers finished seventh with one third place vote and one point.
On Tuesday, the AL & NL Managers of the Year will be announced. Jeff Banister, AJ Hinch, and Paul Molitor are the finalists in the American League, while Terry Collins, Joe Maddon, and Mike Matheny are the National League finalists.
