Lucas Duda breaks his wrist moving furniture

According to SNY, New York Mets outfielder Lucas Duda broke his right wrist while moving furniture, and underwent surgery on Monday. The team was reportedly considering trading first baseman Ike Davis and moving Duda to first baes, but this injury probably puts those plans on hold.

A broken wrist moving furniture is one of the most Mets things ever. Duda had a .718 OPS last season, homering 15 times in 121 games, but he was a horrendous defender in right field for the team. This likely won't cost Duda a roster spot (like a blown out knee playing basketball cost Aaron Boone a job in 2004 with the Yankees), but it'll definitely put a damper on his attempt at a bounceback 2013 season.

I'm not sure there's a more snakebitten franchise in baseball over the last few years than the Mets. When it rains, it pours.
