With the World Series in an offday yesterday, we took a step back from coverage of the series and focused on the smaller things going on in the game. Two of those small things we looked at were a pair of new logos. The Lexington Legends are wearing a mustache on their alternate cap, while the Astros rebrand is going old school. In a slightly ironic twist, the Legends were affiliated with the Astros this season before signing a player development agreement with the Royals for 2013. Also yesterday, we did Free Agent Preview pieces for both the Phillies and Diamondbacks, and took another look at what could happen with the Shohei Otani situation.
All of that is seconday today though, because game three of the World Series is tonight at 8 PM.
-Giants vs Tigers. 8 PM. Ryan Vogelsong vs Anibal Sanchez (2-0 Giants)
Is this game a must-win for the Tigers? Well…the phrase "must-win" might be overstating things a little, but the Tigers really could use a win tonight so that they can breathe a little easier over the rest of the World Series, and potentially send the series back to San Francisco. If the Tigers are going to be celebrating a championship, it will be at AT&T Park and not at Comerica Park in Detroit.
