The longest home runs for the week ending August 27th

For the first time since June, we have a change in the list of the longest homers of the year. Yes, even though Giancarlo still isn’t back, he’s been bumped from one of his spots on the list…thanks to Paul Goldschmidt.

1. Paul Goldschmidt vs John Lackey, 482 feet (August 26th)

Insane Chase Field homers are the best. Paul Goldschmidt hit this damn ball on a line, and everyone knew it was gone from the moment he made contact.

2. Kendrys Morales vs Miguel Gonzalez, 472 feet (August 25th)

Splashdown in the upper tank for Kendrys? Awesome. He’s having a shockingly good year for the Royals.

3. Jonathan Schoop vs Johnny Cueto, 457 feet (August 26th)

Jonathan Schoop tried to shell the Royals Hall of Fame in left field with this blast. He actually misfired, but it wasn’t because of a lack of distance.

4. Jonny Gomes vs Jorge de la Rosa, 453 feet (August 24th)

This is the best thing to happen to the Braves this year. But hitting home runs is bad, or something.

5. Travis d’Arnaud vs Adam Morgan, 451 feet (August 24th)

The Mets homered approximately 8,000 times this week in Philadelphia. This blast by d’Arnaud was the most ridiculous of the bunch, landing on Ashburn Alley in center field.
