The longest home runs for the week ending July 9th

We’ve ended our second Giancarlo-less Friday…and that’s not a good thing. However, some of his friends tried to pick up the slack for him this week. They didn’t really succeed all that much, but hey, at least they tried!

Also, all five of the homers are from the last three days. This wasn’t by design and isn’t because I’m lazy – it just sort of happened.

1. Mike Trout vs Chris Rusin, 471 feet (July 8th)

Every so often, Mike Trout puts a charge into a baseball and sends it into orbit. This was one of those times.

2. Andrew McCutchen vs Seth Maness, 444 feet (July 9th)

Andrew McCutchen isn’t a guy that shows up on this list all that often, but he absolutely obliterated this Seth Maness pitch. Off the batter’s eye at PNC Park? Oh, OK then.

3. Logan Morrison vs Garrett Richards, 440 feet (July 9th)
Morrison’s solo shot

Logan Morrison being productive? What IS this life?

4. Khris Davis vs Julio Teheran, 438 feet (July 8th)

Khris Davis, off the scoreboard! Hell yeah! I love the “clang”, too.

5. Matt Joyce vs Chad Bettis, 434 feet (July 7th)

Matt Joyce is allowed to hit homers? Well I’ll be damned. It’s a Coors Field thing.

About Joe Lucia

I hate your favorite team. I also sort of hate most of my favorite teams.
