MLB has suspended Toronto Blue Jays hitting coach Brook Jacoby a whopping 14 games for “postgame conduct toward the umpire crew”. The incident reportedly occurred after Toronto’s game in Boston on April 29th.

Jacoby and other members of the Blue Jays weren’t pleased with the umpiring crew following their loss to the Red Sox last Wednesday. Toronto fell 4-1, and Adrian Johnson had a very liberal strike zone. The two teams combined for 16 strikeouts and just two walks.
Check out this zone. Johnson was juuuuuuust a tad inconsistent with what pitches he called strikes on right-handed hitters.
Yikes. Maybe the Blue Jays *did* have a gripe…but the Red Sox probably had one as well. Talk about variable…
Regardless, Jacoby must have crossed a line to earn a 14 game suspension from MLB. They wouldn’t dish out a suspension that long unless there was some fire to go along with the smoke.
