Cash turns 37 on Saturday, and is a two-time World Champion with the Red Sox and Yankees. He grew up in Tampa and went to Florida State, making him a truly local choice for manager.
Cash also has been deemed responsible for the success of Carlos Carrasco in Cleveland and the club’s acquisition of stud catcher Yan Gomes from the Blue Jays in 2012.
