Go ahead and pull one name off of the free agent market – Milwaukee Brewers third baseman Aramis Ramirez has exercised his half of a $14 million mutual option for 2015.
Third baseman Aramis Ramirez has accepted his half of the 2015 mutual option. The #Brewers exercised the option last Friday.

The 36-year old Ramirez hit .285/.330/.427 with 15 homers in 2014 for Milwaukee. After the acquisition of Adam Lind this weekend, and Ramirez’s announcement today, the Brewers have their infield pretty well set with those two, shortstop Jean Segura, and second baseman Scooter Gennett. They’ll still need a caddy for Lind at first, and could use a solid backup at third for Ramirez, who has had three different DL stints over the last two years.
Ramirez ranked 14th on our freshly-published list of the top 30 free agents in baseball.
