On Saturday, April 21, at 9 p.m. ET, SHOWTIME is airing a special 30-minute preview of ‘The Franchise: A Season with the Miami Marlins’. Like last year’s with the San Francisco Giants, it’s going to feature exclusive behind-the-scenes coverage of the newly minted Marlins, both on and off-the-field.

I forgot that SHOWTIME has been with the team since Spring Training and that they would be capturing all the Ozzie Guillen Fidel Castro fuss that resulted in the Marlins’ manager being suspended for five games, which you see in the trailer. As if Ozzie Guillen wasn’t alluring television enough, his comments and the disgrace they immediately caused will be a convenient ratings booster for SHOWTIME and should make for a good dramatic twist in what was already going to be a worthwhile series. I mean, I can’t wait for the Ramirez & Reyes version of Petey & Lomo or the episode that focuses solely on that ghastly, watery home run structure.
