Awful, awful news from Milwaukee tonight – NL MVP candidate Giancarlo Stanton was hit in the face by a Mike Fiers fastball, and was carted off the field in an ambulance.
This footage isn’t for the faint of heart.
This is terrible. Stanton is one of the best young players in baseball, and is having the finest year of his young career. Hopefully he’s alright, but given the situation that unfolded after he got hit, I think “alright” might be optimistic.
