Here’s Vin Scully pleading for some rain at Dodger Stadium

There hasn’t been a rainout at Dodger Stadium since 2000, and there have been only 17 rainouts since the Dodgers moved to Los Angeles in 1958.

For whatever reason, the Dodgers grounds crew was practicing their tarp rolling skills before Sunday’s game with the Diamondbacks, and Vin Scully used that as an opportunity to educate us on the history of rain at Dodger Stadium while begging for some precipitation.

The man is a baseball encyclopedia. I love it. He can take a relatively nondescript video clip during a game and unfurl a quick little story that teaches us all something we would have never thought about.
