The most exciting walk offs of the week ending July 20th

I was just going to do a “recap of the first half of walk offs” this Monday…but there were so many walk offs this weekend that couldn’t be ignored. Thus, we’ll have a traditional most exciting walk offs of the week feature this week, covering a three-day period that was chock-full of action.

July 18th, Orioles vs Athletics

Baltimore was cruising along until the ninth inning…and then Zach Britton got systematically picked apart by the A’s, and the rally was capped off with this three-run bomb to center by Josh Donaldson.

July 18th, Mariners vs Angels

Marathons have to end eventually, and no matter how they do, we’re just happy the damn game is over. With the way Mike Trout was running, he wasn’t going to be denied.

July 19th, Rockies vs Pirates

Welcome to Mercer County. We have cookies. There wasn’t a damn thing that Charlie Blackmon could do to catch up with this gapper off the bat of Jordy Mercer.

July 20th, Reds vs Yankees

Walk off pop up? Walk off pop up. As a long-time Brian McCann fan, I’m not complaining.

July 20th, Brewers vs Nationals

It didn’t look like Anthony Rendon even needed to kick his wheels into a second gear. He just glided around the bases, and a poor throw by Khris Davis ensured that he wouldn’t even need to get his uniform dirty.

July 20th, Mariners vs Angels

Fernando Rodney just didn’t have it in the ninth inning on Sunday, and Grant Green put the exclamation mark on an arrow-filled inning.

July 20th, Mets vs Padres

Three words: that’s so Mets.

About Joe Lucia

I hate your favorite team. I also sort of hate most of my favorite teams.
