Last week was kind of a disappointing week – there wasn’t that one blast that really wowed us all. This week, though, we’ve got at least one that’ll make your eyes pop out of your head.
1. George Springer vs Aaron Harang, 465 feet (June 24th)
This homer doesn’t seem like much of anything…until you realize there’s a damn hill in center field at Minute Maid Park that pushes the center field wall back an extra 30 feet. Springer absolutely murdered this pitch from Harang.
2. Brandon Barnes vs Brandon Kintzler, 447 feet (June 20th)
That ball left Coors Field in a hurry. This is the first of three Coors Field homers on the list this week – as the weather gets warmer and the air stays thin, balls are going to be flying out of there even more.
3. Seth Smith vs Dan Haren, 447 feet (June 20th)
This homer doesn’t really look like much. But hey, it’s Petco Park – the damn thing is a cavern.
4. Drew Stubbs vs Jason Motte, 446 feet (June 24th)
This Drew Stubbs homer didn’t go nearly as far as that Hanley Ramirez moonshot from earlier this month, but he still put one hell of a charge into it. If you can nearly get up to the concourse at Coors Field, there’s some oomph behind that baseball.
5. Aramis Ramirez vs Tyler Matzek, 446 feet (June 22nd)
See my last comment about nearly getting one to the concourse at Coors Field.
