NEW YORK, NY – OCTOBER 18: Curtis Granderson #3 of the New York Mets catches a pop up fly hit by Chris Coghlan #8 of the Chicago Cubs in the second inning against Noah Syndergaard #34 of the New York Mets during game two of the 2015 MLB National League Championship Series at Citi Field on October 18, 2015 in the Flushing neighborhood of the Queens borough of New York City. Curtis Granderson robs Chris Coghlan of home run early in NLCS Game 2

Everything is coming up Mets early on in Game 2 of the NLCS. Cubs starting pitcher Jake Arrieta looked surprisingly mortal in the first inning, giving up a Curtis Granderson single, David Wright double and Daniel Murphy home run (yes, he did it again!) to open the home half of the frame and give the Mets a 3-0 lead.

Granderson also came up big with his glove in the second inning, taking away a chance for the Cubs to get a run on the board. Chris Coghlan hit a ball deep to right field off Noah Syndergaard, but Granderson took a great route to the ball, timed his leap perfectly and robbed Coghlan of a home run. Here’s a look at the catch:

Since nearly giving up a home run, Syndergaard hasn’t left much to chance, striking out four of the next five Cubs hitters he’s faced. (Dexter Fowler drew a walk among those four whiffs.)

Meanwhile, Granderson is continuing to make an impact in Game 2. He drew a walk to lead off the Mets’ third inning, stole second and third base, and scored on an infield single by Yoenis Cespedes. As a result, the Mets currently lead the Cubs 4-0.
